Chris specialises in corporate, commercial and intellectual property law and is based in our Market Harborough office. He advises on mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures, private equity and investments and regularly advises on international transactions. Chris also advises on commercial disputes including director and shareholder disputes, contractual disputes and intellectual property infringement actions.

 

In addition to his role with Summerfield Browne Limited he is also a legal advisor with the Institute of Directors and holds a legal surgery each Tuesday at the IOD’s premises in Pall Mall, London.

Des Crichton, Senior Consultant Lawyer (Corporate and Commercial)

 

After qualifying as a barrister, Des spent three years in private practice before moving in-house with BP. Since then he has spent more than thirty years on the commercial side of the energy sector in both large and small companies, most recently with Royal Dutch Shell. Des has specialized in corporate commercial work and has specific knowledge of the shipping industry and the upstream oil and gas sector. As a transactions lawyer, Des has significant experience in corporate, M&A and asset deals as well as joint-ventures, but he has also established and managed in-house legal teams, set up ethics and compliance programmes and managed the relationship between corporations and their external legal advisers - from selection to fee negotiations and performance monitoring.

Andrew Royce, Senior Consultant Solicitor (Corporate and Commercial)

 

Andrew advises businesses in all aspects especially terms and conditions, commercial property, dealing with Banks and mergers and acquisitions. He has been doing this as a solicitor  for over 25 years for businesses up to £50m turnover. Andrew has substantial experience  in commercial advice and strategy, consolidated with an MBA from Lancaster University. He offers specialist insight and proactive advice which all developing businesses now must have.
