Tom Lathom, Senior Solicitor, Head of Litigation - Market Harborough (Commercial Contract and Property Dispute Litigation)
Tom specialises in commercial contract disputes and landlord/tenant disputes and is based in our Market Harborough office.
He has considerable experience of both fast and multi-track claims and advises clients on their prospects of success in a cost-effective manner. Tom is an experienced county court advocate and worked as a duty solicitor for over two years providing advice to tenants in relation to eviction proceedings. As a duty solicitor Tom made submissions in Court on behalf of clients, cross examined witnesses and presented complex legal arguments. Tom is now mainly instructed by landlords in relation to disputes with their tenants and uses his extensive knowledge of section 8 and section 21 procedures to secure possession of his clients’ properties.
Tom also advises on Employment Law including wrongful dismissal, unfair dismissal and redundancy claims and frequently advises clients on settlement agreements (previously known as compromise agreements).
"I was a client of Tom at his old firm a while back and decided to come back to him at his new practice for a new matter. I found him to be very trustworthy, respectable and prompt to respond to my messages and calls. He was clear, succinct and offered a balance sheet approach with a burdens and benefits analysis with options relating to my case to help me inform my decision. Having forged a good professional rapport with Tom which has eventually developed into a trusting partnership has convinced me that he was the right person to turn to."
