Ash Johnson, Senior Consultant Solicitor (Commercial property)

 

Ash Johnson is a 20-year qualified solicitor specialising in commercial property matters and buying and selling businesses.    He worked as an employee at various firms including a Top 100 and a niche private acquisitions law firm, after which, in 2017, he started work as a consultant solicitor.  He acts on behalf of both landlords and tenants dealing with commercial property matters such as grant of business leases, sub-leases, sale of leasehold interests and various associated landlord and tenant matters.  He also deals with commercial freehold property transactions.  Recent commercial property transactions include the grant of lease of a garage/service station for a landlord, acting on behalf of a tenant in the lease of a nursery and for a buyer of a commercial property freehold. In terms of buying and selling businesses he has dealt with transactions involving many different types of businesses including retail shops, pubs, lettings agencies, cafes and restaurants and manufacturing businesses.

 

Ash has previously taught subjects such as real estate and private acquisitions on Legal Practice Courses and is the author of “How to Start A Business – Legal Information for Entrepreneurs”.  Aside from the law, he is interested in science, technology and sports.  He keeps fit by running, swimming and playing football.  He recently obtained a level 2 RFU coaching qualification.

Tessa Rhodes, Director, Head of Litigation (Civil and Commercial Litigation)

 

Tessa is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and is based at our Leicester Office.  She joined the firm in September 2018 having worked for a large city centre firm for over 25 years.

 

She specializes in all aspects of Civil and Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution.  She has considerable experience in dealing with all court process to include small claims, fast track and multi track actions covering a wide spectrum of work to include commercial contract disputes, building disputes, debt recovery, professional negligence, defamation, nuisance, boundary disputes and property litigation to name a few for both Claimant and Defendant.  She offers a full service from initial advice, the preparation of legal documents, negotiations and/or mediation through to the preparation for and attendance at hearings.  She also deals with enforcement action to include dealing with the High Court Enforcement Officers, charging orders, third party debt orders, oral examinations and bankruptcy/winding up.

Andrew Royce, Senior Consultant Solicitor (Corporate and Commercial)

 

Andrew advises businesses in all aspects especially terms and conditions, commercial property, dealing with Banks and mergers and acquisitions. He has been doing this as a solicitor  for over 25 years for businesses up to £50m turnover. Andrew has substantial experience  in commercial advice and strategy, consolidated with an MBA from Lancaster University. Penny is a Litigation Advisor based at our Market Harborough office.  Penny deals with all aspects of civil and commercial litigation to include but not limited to First Tier Property Tribunal claims, student loan disputes and parking fines.
