Your employer may have recently offered you a settlement agreement and we regularly advise clients on the effect of signing a settlement agreement. If your employer has offered you a severance package and you want legal advice as to whether the amount that you are being offered is fair then we can help.
Our solicitors have dealt with hundreds of settlement agreements and know that each individual case is different. Your employer may be making people redundant or you may want to leave work without working your notice period. In either case it is sensible for you to consider a settlement agreement.
A settlement agreement (formerly known as a compromise agreement) is a legal document that brings your employment to an end. Typically, you will receive a tax-free lump sum payment and you will not be required to work your notice period. This can obviously have advantages if you are considering alternative employment or are about to take up a new role.
We understand that the process can seem daunting and we can often accommodate clients on an urgent basis (i.e. within one - two days). The consultation will usually take between 45 minutes to an hour. Legal costs are typically paid for by your employer.
If you require assistance with a Settlement Agreement we would be happy to assist.
