How many Consultant Solicitors are there?

In September 2022 there were 2,800 Consultant Solicitors working across 35 consultant-led Law Firms, according to data from Codex Edge ATLAS and a blog by Neil Rose.

Some have predicted that by 2027 a quarter or even a third of Lawyers in the UK will be working as a consultant Solicitor or Lawyer.

From our own research in January 2024 there are approximately 2,950 consultant lawyers working for the top five consultancy led law firms alone, according to their websites. Therefore, the predicted increase is definitely coming to fruition.
