How do you get your CCJ removed?

If you pay the debt in full within 28 days of the date of the CCJ, it will not be registered against you and will not show up on your credit report.

If you pay the total amount after a month from the date of the CCJ, the public register will state that the judgment is satisfied.

If the CCJ is a “default judgment”, then the court has the power to set it aside. You will need to complete form N244, provide a detailed witness statement in support of your application and pay a court fee. The court must set aside the judgment if any conditions for obtaining a default judgment were not satisfied as set out in the Civil Procedure Rules.   If the claimant followed the procedural rules correctly, the judgment is valid. However, the court still has the discretion to set aside the judgment on discretionary grounds if satisfied that you have a defence to the claim being made and/or there are other good reasons why the judgment should be set aside.
